Scheduling
Teams have a schedule consisting of 16 games:
{A} Two games against each of the teams in its own division (6 games)
{B} One game against each team from the opposite division in the same conference (4 games)
{C} One game against two teams from a division in each other conference (4 games)
{D} One game against one team from the other remaining divisions (2 games)

An example is shown below:

The Hawks do not play a team ranked third in any division outside their own conference. Similarly, a team ranked first would not play a team ranked fourth and vice versa.

The following formula is used to determine the order of fixtures:
Position 1 - A4, b3, C2, a3, D1, B1, a2, C3, c2, a4, B4, D1, A3, c3, B2, A2
Position 2 - A3, b4, C1, a4, D2, B2, A1, c4, C1, a3, B3, D2, A4, c4, B1, a1
Position 3 - a2, B1, c4, A1, D3, B3, a4, c1, C4, A2, b2, D3, a2, C1, B4, A4
Position 4 - a1, B2, c3, A2, D4, B4, A3, C2, c3, A1, b1, D4, a1, C2, B3, a3

Capital letters signify a home game, lower case signifies an away game, underlined ties can be either home or away, but there will be one of each

Scoring system
Teams are ranked by their win-loss record, as drawn matches are not possible.

Play-offs
The six divisions winners qualify automatically to the play-offs, as well as the two next-best teams from each conference (12 teams in total). The teams are seeded based on regular season record, with the first four seeds having a bye to the quarter-finals.

Week 1: 5 v 12, 6 v 11, 7 v 10, 8 v 9
