The Government has decided that in order to strengthen relations with our Nova English neighbours, a territorial expansion claim should be made in the area to the north of Newcastle-upon-Eastmoor. This new claim will mean that Mercury will share another section of border with the Kingdom of Nova England, and this will allow the rail network connecting the two nations to be expanded.

The expansion will involve moving the western border for the state of Taylor further west, close to the 130th parallel. In addition, the western border of the state of Mercury will be shifted, so that it heads southwards from Castleton until it meets the border with Tow Law. The western border of Tow Law will be removed, and replaced by a continuation of the northern border along the river Law, until it meets the border with the Kingdom of Nova England.

In the newly expanded state of Taylor, two new cities will be constructed. One of these will be on the former site of Harbour Town, and will be named Harlby. The other will be situated to the north of Newcastle-upon-Eastmoor, and will be named North Moorland.

A further expansion into the area north of the State of May will also be claimed, with the former city of Hookton being re-established. One other city will also be constructed on the south coast of the peninsula, and will be named Whitby.

This claim will be submitted for the deliberation of the MCS early in the new year, but for it to be successful, a large increase in activity is necessary. As such, I'm setting a target of 100 posts before the end of the year.
The claim has been accepted by the MCS, and will be updated for the first new map of 2018.
A new expansion will be submitted to the MCS.
